Jumana Hamdani + Sculpture Sweden = Architecture Lab Series

Jumana Hamdanis konstnärliga projekt Architecture Lab Series visades under utställningen Art Mesh på Kulturcentrum Ronneby konsthall i februari 2021. Utställningen fokuserade på resultaten av konstnärliga experimentella samarbeten mellan konstnärer och industrier i Blekinge.

Både konstnärer och ingenjörer formar vår värld och vår världsbild och inspirerar oss till nya perspektiv på vardag och framtid. Konst och teknik kan öppna våra ögon för nya förhållningssätt och möjligheter. Kan konsten utmana tekniken och tekniken utmanas av konst?
Är det tekniken eller fantasin som sätter gränserna?

Produktionerna i utställningen har genomförts inom ramen för Konst i Blekinges projekt Art Eco System med stöd av Kulturrådet Länk till annan webbplats, öppnas i nytt fönster.. Art Mesh är en del av Art Eco System.

Konstnärerna som medverkar i projektet ansökte om produktionsstipendier från Konst i Blekinge / Region Blekinge. Konstnärerna kan nu ”sina” tekniker och vi hoppas att företagen låtit sig inspireras till nya konstnärliga samarbeten.

Abstract:
The Forest Pavilion is an experimental public art project testing 3D printing with recycled material made of wood fibers combined with bioplastic PLA.

The project aims to rewild cities by creating a new urban structure that has similarities to the surrounding landscape of Blekinge, resembling trees. It is an open forest-like
space that hosts a refuge for humans to contemplate and a habitat for other wildlife to thrive, creating biodiversity. The green roofs create a canopy that alludes to nature, home to native insects, butterflies, bees and birds.

The Forest Pavilion is part of The Architecture Lab Series; the project’s building block is experimentation between art, architecture, and technology to create imaginary shell structures. It is not about visualizing architecture for the sake of art but instead melting the divisions between them and creating new visions of human life to let us imagine building structures that had been previously inconceivable.

The project will display a 3D-printed Tree in actual scale. The rest of the pavilion idea would be presented in a small-scale model accompanied with a displayed presentation of the project from concept, process, to construction.
